THE FOLLOWING PERTAINS TO ALL SHIFTS
  • All servers should be polite and gracious.
  • Have fun and play with people as they wait in line.
  • NO ONE eats until the tables are COMPLETELY set up.
  • NO FREELOADERS! If they want to eat, they must bring a dish or buy a lunch ticket.
  • NO ONE, except the Buttery staff, is allowed in the Buttery at any time.
  • A First Aid kit is kept in the Buttery for minor injuries.Major Injuries must go to First Aid.
 
Shift Time # of People Needed Volunteer's Duties
9:00 - 10:00 1 Pre-Faire Prep. -- Same person as the 6:00-7:00 shift.
  • Prepares the Buttery by setting out bowls of pickles, pretzels or other snacks as available.
  • Sets up Gatorade, punch, and water coolers.
  • Sets up large ice chests.
  • Receive food from members for potluck and places in coolers as appropriate. Mark any containers that are not to be thrown away with masking tape and write name of the person who brought it.
  • Put away all food and stock brought in by the Sutherlands.
  • Wash cutting boards down with bleach.
10:00 - 12:00 0 Morning
  • Maintain the snack and pickle bowls and drink coolers.
  • Setup for potluck. (Arranging the food brought in onto one of our wooden plates, wrapping it, and placing it back into the cooler.)
  • On hot days, save some fruit or watermelon for the afternoon.
12:00 - 2:00 0 Lunch
  • RING BELL TO ANNOUNCE LUNCH, COLLECT LUNCH TICKETS at 12:30-1:30.
  • Maintain snack and pickle bowls and drink coolers.
  • Keep food bowls filled and remove, if item is all gone.
  • Clear and keep area clean as much as possible.
  • Picking up trash is not a sin :-)
  • Throw all food away in trash cans inside of the buttery.
  • Place all dirty utensils in wash bucket.
  • Empty out trash cans.
2:00 - 4:00 0 Post Lunch
  • Maintain snack and pickle bowls and drink coolers.
  • Remove all linens from tables and counters.
  • Wash down all counters with bleach.
  • Organize and put back all clean dishes from potluck.
  • Put out any left over fruit or cookies.(Fruit particularly on hot days)
  • Finish potluck clean up.
  • Empty out trash cans as needed.

DISHWASHERS:
  • Collect all left over pickle bowls and wash dishes, rinse and air-dry dishes.
  • Sunday nights: Towel dry for storage during the week.
4:00 - 6:00 1 Afternoon
  • Begin to collect snack and pickle bowls from tables.
  • Finish any final cleanup from potluck.
  • Make sure buttery is clean and organized.
  • Prior shifts may have been too busy to complete everything.
  • Help clean up garden and tables from trash and debris.
  • Sunday nights: pack up all dishes, utensils, etc.. into plastic containers for clean storage during the week.
6:00 - 7:00 1 End of Day -- Same person as the 9:00-10:00 shift.
  • Complete any unfinished items remaining from previous shifts.
