Trims add a nice touch to any costume but remember less is more. Keep trims in the appropriate color palette and as natural as possible.
Use simple gimps, bias tape, grosgrain ribbon, or cording. Embroidery in small amounts would be a wonderful trim.
Lace was an expensive item and should be worn by characters of higher station. Feathers are great to adorn your hat but keep things simple.
One or two ostrich feathers in more natural clors would be acceptable.
Use feathers from more common birds but don't use too many, you don't want to look like a chicken attacked you.
