History of the Richard M. Frank Memorial Drawing
Richard Frank was a staunch supporter of Friends of Faire. He was a $1000 level member. He was not a wealthy man, but he gave of his money to support Friends of Faire and its endeavors. Richard truly loved Faire and Friends of Faire. When Richard learned that he was dying, he donated a beautiful Damascus steel knife to FOF. His only request was that it used to raise funds for Friends of Faire. That was our first gift drawing and we raised almost $400. We were able to purchase the stove and coolers for our Buttery. Richard's faire clothes were also donated to be given to a member that would not have otherwise been able to afford to be dressed properly. To see Richard dressed, you would have called him a peasant, but to those who knew him, he certainly was of noble stature. Each season, we honor him through the continuation of our Richard M. Frank Memorial Drawing.
